TYPES OF WEAVES
There are three fundamental types of textile weaves;
Twill, Plain and Satin

Twill weave
Twill has a pattern of diagonal parallel ribs.The pattern is made by passing the weft thread over one or more warp threads, then under two or more warp threads resulting in a 'step' between rows, thus creating a diagonal pattern.

Satin weave
Satin has a pattern of 'floating' threads.The pattern is made made passing four or more weft threads floating over a warp yarn and four or more warp yarns floating over a weft yarn. Satin weave gives a lustrous glossy surface to the face side

Plain weave
Plain or Tabby is a simple criss-cross pattern. The pattern is made by passing each weft thread over and under each warp thread, alternating with each row thus creating a plain
balanced pattern.
